Applications Close July Become a Meditation Teacher for the Modern World.
A nine-month journey into meditation, psychology, philosophy, presence and practice. Join us from anywhere in the world.
Starts August 5, 2026
The world doesn't need more information.
It needs people who can help others remember their humanness, understand themselves & each other & be present in the world.
Meditation teachers today need more than scripts and techniques. They need the ability to hold space, understand human behaviour, navigate emotions, and embody what they teach.
This training is designed to develop the teacher and the human being.
Your Facilitator: Claire Robbie
Claire Robbie is a meditation teacher, facilitator, writer and founder of SOMM (The School of Modern Meditation). For nearly two decades, she has guided individuals and groups through meditation, mindfulness and personal growth, helping people cultivate greater awareness, resilience and connection in their everyday lives.
Drawing on meditation, psychology, philosophy and lived experience, Claire is known for her ability to make timeless wisdom accessible, practical and deeply relevant to the challenges of modern life. Her teaching style combines depth with warmth, creating spaces where people feel safe to explore, question and grow.
As lead facilitator of the SOMM Meditation Teacher Training, Claire is passionate about developing meditation teachers who not only understand the techniques and theory of meditation but who embody the practice and can confidently share it with others. She believes that great meditation teachers are not created through information alone, but through personal practice, self-inquiry, community and lived experience.
Through SOMM, Claire has trained hundreds of students, facilitated retreats and workshops across New Zealand, and built a thriving community dedicated to bringing meditation into everyday life.

This program consists of seven modules. The first six modules are live online sessions with Claire, with mentoring and study requirements; the final module is where you will integrate your learning with practice and teaching. The live sessions with Claire will be on eight Wednesday evenings at NZ 6:30pm - 9:00 pm. Each session is recorded for those who cannot make them.
This training is facilitated by SOMM Founder, Claire Robbie and includes a mentorship with SOMM co-owners and meditation teachers Aviette Musin & Mark Edwards.
