Breathwork at SOMM
At SOMM, Breathwork is one of our core pillars because the breath sits at the intersection of body and mind. We bring breathwork back into a relationship with awareness, nervous system regulation, and meditation. We are not interested in breathwork purely for intensity or peak experience. Instead, we focus on understanding what is happening in your system, choosing practices intentionally, and building capacity over time. That being said, we do encourage and offer longer breathwork journeys and immersions as a way to explore deeper states, build awareness, and safely access and integrate what may be held in the system.
In this way, breath becomes a tool for building our window of tolerance and helping us downshift stress, as well as activation, increasing energy and clarity when needed.
Breathwork techniques are most powerful when used consistently, not just in moments of stress or when you feel overwhelmed. Rather than only reaching for the breath at the “bottom of the cliff,” we encourage you to integrate it into your daily life—through short, regular practices that build awareness, capacity, and familiarity with your system. Attending classes consistently will support this, helping you understand when to activate, when to regulate, and how to work with your breath in a way that is both intentional and sustainable.
$10 Online Classes
Exhale
A slower, down-regulating breathwork class designed to support relaxation, recovery, and nervous system regulation. With an emphasis on nasal breathing and extended exhales, Exhale helps you unwind, settle the body, and return to a calmer, more grounded state.
Dynamic Breath
An activating breathwork class that uses more energising techniques to increase alertness, clarity, and vitality. Expect a more expansive style of breathing that builds energy in the body while developing awareness and capacity within the system.
Breathe
A balanced, foundational class that brings together both activation and regulation. Breathe is designed to help you build a consistent relationship with your breath, develop awareness, and understand how to work with different techniques in a steady, accessible way.
A longer, immersive breathwork experience that allows for deeper exploration of the body and mind. These sessions combine activating and regulating techniques in a supported environment, creating space to access deeper states, build awareness, and integrate what arises. We recommend one a month to reset your nervous system.
Breathwork Fundamentals is our 2-part online foundational breathwork course. It’s a practical introduction to awareness-based living and contemporary breathwork designed for real life. We explain what breathwork actually is, not just how to sit or breathe, but what is happening in the mind, the nervous system, and your awareness when you breathe with intention and how to work with it.
